Jailbreak Weapons Tier List

This Jailbreak weapons tier list ranks guns and tools by how often they win fights on the live 2026 map—not by how flashy they look in the garage. Free starters still matter. Expensive launchers only pay off when you already know how to escape, rob, and reposition. Pair this page with the Vehicles Tier List so your car and loadout match, then use How to Rob and Getting Started for the money loop that funds the shop.

Weapons do not replace map skill. A Camaro exit from Jewelry beats a Rocket Launcher flex outside Rising City Bank. Buy guns after you can cash in consistently.

How weapon tiers are ranked

Criteria used here:

  • Time-to-kill in common ranges (store doors, bank lobby, highway stops)
  • Ammo cost and reload risk during chases
  • Role fit for criminal escapes versus police arrests
  • Counterplay (forcefields, vehicles, rooftops)
  • Accessibility (free, cash, level gates, SWAT/BOSS gamepass)

Trading values belong on Values. This hub is pure combat utility.

S tier — fight winners

Shotgun (free) — Still the best close-range equalizer. Perfect for doorways, Jewelry exits, and Prison yard panic fights. Master peeks before you spend 50k on niche guns.

AK-47 (~$15,000) — The default criminal assault rifle. Strong mid-range spray, easy to find at gun shops, and reliable when you need to suppress a chasing officer without perfect aim.

Rifle (SWAT / BOSS) — Gamepass rifle with high fire rate and strong vehicle damage. Police with SWAT kits melt helicopters and cars faster than AK users. If you main cop, this is the priority unlock over vanity cosmetics.

Sniper (~$50,000, Level 5) — One-shot potential at long range. Excellent for rooftops, Museum plaza overwatch, and cutting off Volcano approaches. Weak in tight interiors—swap to shotgun when you push indoors.

A tier — strong situational tools

Pistol (free) — Starter handgun after escape. Fine for early arrests or last-clip finishes. Upgrade as soon as AK or shotgun muscle memory is ready; do not live on pistol forever.

Rocket Launcher (~$40,000, Level 3) — Huge burst and area denial, but rockets are expensive and loud. Use it to delete camped exits or grounded aircraft—not as your every-fight primary. Ammo greed bankrupts mid-game accounts.

Plasma Pistol / Plasma Shotgun (~$50,000 each) — Specialty anti-forcefield guns. Plasma bolts pierce Forcefield Launcher bubbles. Carry Plasma when enemy cops or criminals spam shields; otherwise AK or shotgun wins more fair fights.

Forcefield Launcher — Defensive bubble that blocks normal bullets and helps stall while you heal or wait for backup. Meta answer is Plasma. Treat Forcefield as a kit piece, not a solo win button.

B tier — utility and support

C4 (~$500) — Cheap explosive utility. Plant on Prison weak walls, deny vehicles, or punch aircraft occupants. Criminals learning escape routes should keep C4 habits even if they rarely win pure gunfights with it.

Uzi / Revolver / Flintlock — Viable when you already own them or prefer their cadence. They sit below AK/Shotgun for most new buyers. Revolver rewards aim; Uzi rewards close pressure.

Grenades / Smoke — Soft utility for breaking line of sight during Jewelry or Bank exits. Nice adds, not a replacement for a primary gun.

C tier — skip early

Novelty skins, meme melees, and under-leveled rocket spam without ammo budget belong here. If a weapon only looks good in thumbnails, buy a car from the Vehicles Tier List first.

Cop kits vs criminal kits

Police priorities

  1. Reliable mid gun (Rifle if SWAT/BOSS, else AK)
  2. Shotgun for interior arrests
  3. Sniper for overwatch on open heists
  4. Forcefield for surviving focused fire while cuffs finish
  5. Plasma if criminals run Forcefield stacks

Cops also lean on station gear, helicopters, and arrest tools. Read Police for team habits, bounty flow, and when to hold a rooftop instead of diving a vault.

Criminal priorities

  1. Shotgun for doorway trades
  2. AK for street and lobby spray
  3. C4 for escapes and denial
  4. Sniper only after Level 5 and a stable money loop
  5. Rocket/Plasma only with spare cash after Camaro-tier mobility

Criminals should avoid long gunfights outside cash-in ramps. Shoot to create space, then drive. How to Rob matters more than a perfect AK spray pattern.

Where to buy — gun shops

Stock up at map gun shops and armories instead of wandering empty-handed:

  • Prison Gun Shop — early access after yard breaks; expect heat.
  • Rising City Gun Shop — best loop with Jewelry / Bank runs.
  • Crown City Gun Shop — post-rebuild coverage where Crater used to sit.
  • Mountainside Town Gun Shop — handy on rural rotations.
  • Military Base — higher-end stock when you can reach it safely.

Ammo costs stack. Buy what you will fire this session. Dead weight rockets in inventory do not help a Donut Shop clear.

Suggested purchase order

  1. Finish Getting Started so escapes and cash-ins are automatic.
  2. Use free Pistol + Shotgun until Jewelry prints.
  3. Buy AK-47.
  4. Add C4 for Prison and vehicle denial.
  5. Unlock Sniper at Level 5 if you fight at range.
  6. Add Rocket or Plasma only after a strong car and safe bankroll.
  7. Cops: grab Rifle via SWAT/BOSS when you commit to police mains.

Re-check this list after big Updates—damage and shop stock can shift.

Combat tips that beat raw DPS

  • Peek angles; do not wide-swing Shotgun ranges with a pistol.
  • Reload behind cover, never in the Bank vault stream.
  • Switch loadouts when the fight moves from roof to hallway.
  • Against Forcefield, swap to Plasma instead of dumping AK mags into the bubble.
  • After a won fight, leave—loot and season XP matter more than highlight clips.

Tie-ins with vehicles and values

A Roadster-class escape from the Vehicles Tier List saves more bags than a Rocket you fire twice. HyperChrome and stickers never raise bullet damage—keep cosmetics on Values. Season 33 grinders should fund contracts and the Velociraptor track before maxing every plasma variant.

Watch the mid-page weapons overview video for visual shop context, then confirm prices in your server. Guns are tools for finishing robberies and arrests. Buy the S-tier staples, respect ammo math, and let mobility plus heist knowledge carry the rest of Jailbreak.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Jailbreak players.

What are the best free Jailbreak weapons?

Pistol and Shotgun are free staples. Shotgun wins most close fights; upgrade to AK when Jewelry cash is stable.

Is the SWAT Rifle worth it?

Yes for police mains. The Rifle’s fire rate and vehicle damage beat stock options when you own SWAT or BOSS.

When should I buy a Sniper or Rocket Launcher?

After Level gates and a reliable money loop. Sniper needs Level 5; Rockets need Level 3 plus ammo budget you will actually use.

How do I beat a Forcefield Launcher?

Switch to Plasma Pistol or Plasma Shotgun—plasma pierces the bubble. Ordinary AK spray wastes ammo.

Where do I buy guns in Jailbreak?

Use Prison, Rising City, Crown City, Mountainside Town, and Military Base gun shops/armories. Stock only what you will fire this session.

Should criminals buy guns before a car?

Usually no. Fund a starter car and robbery loop first via Getting Started and How to Rob, then pick AK/Shotgun upgrades.
